Smedi Award 2002

Reprint Wins better business award

Based in Piddlehinton, Reprint Services, the manufacturer of SMT Stencil Printers and refurbishment specialists for SMTech and Quad printers, has received the Better Business through New Markets Award at the SFEDI Achievement Awards 2002, hosted by the Bank of England. The Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative (SFEDI) promotes the government endorsed learning and skills agenda for small firms in the UK and holds the annual awards ceremony to celebrate the success of small businesses and their support organisations throughout the UK.

Martin Linford, one of the four partners at Reprint, collected the Award and comments;

"As a new company setting up in 1999, we attended all business start-up courses issued by the Enterprise Centre in Dorchester.  We are now exporting our stencil printers to the USA, Europe and the rest of the world. The Better Business through New Markets Award is recognition of our achievement as a young, growing company to supply our products to a global market in such a short space of time and in spite of market conditions. We are delighted to have received the award and hope to continue improving our products and services to further expand the business."

Hosting the Awards David Clementi, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England stated "Helping small firms to survive and thrive by helping them to develop their skills is vital to the economy. Equally, it is important to ensure that business support and advice achieves consistently high standards. The Bank of England recognises the importance of SFEDI's work in these areas and is delighted to host the event."
