The Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment Regulations  (WEEE Directive)

Reprint Ltd has been working for some time towards the introduction of the WEEE directive which will be legislation in 2004/5 and fully implemented in July 2006.

We have taken several steps to be prepared for this and have put in place a take back policy regarding machines sold by ourselves to our customers.

Reprint is fully committed to producing products that have minimum impact on the environment. As part of this commitment we have included in the design process for each new product:

We will be monitoring the introduction of the  legislation, in particular the recycling targets that will need to be met by each Member State.

We are also closely monitoring the proposals being put to the UK government, and analysing what they will mean in practise for our business.

When we have some more definitive Government guidance,  following the initial consultation stage, on the content of the legislation, we will start to work with our distributors and customers  and put arrangements in place  that will allow us to meet the new legislation as quickly as possible.

In addition to the WEEE Directive, we are also looking at the implications of other upcoming legislation, such as:
