Hi Kelvin

There should not be an interlock on the keyboard cover on an AVX400 but there is on the AVP300.

If you can send through to us the Sig400.ini and secsdebug.txt files and we can check the detail.

Their may be a possibility that the very early 400s may have had the same setup as the AVP300. We are pretty sure that this is not the case but it was some time ago and we have not come across this issue before on the AVX400.

We will look forward to hearing from you

Regards

Ian

Hi Kelvin

Re your question regarding changing the AVX400 from front to rear dedication.

This is not an easy job. Even the guys at SMTech on the production line had great difficulty in setting the machine up for rear dedication.

Mechanically speaking it is quite easy but to set the machine up is a swine to do as effectively the whole configuration of the machine changes so all of the parameters will change.

SMTech produced very few machines with rear dedication. These were for TDK and the machines were re-named the VP4 and sold directly by TDK.

There will be different parts required as you will see from the differences in the two bills of material (Front ded bom = 6704, rear ded bom = 8342).

You will need to contact Speedline Technologies directly to obtain the parts required.

There is no actual build procedure to follow as SMTech was only just starting to make up procedures when Speedline took them over. The AVX400 was at that time going to be dropped from MPM's line up so no more time was spent on producing them.

The main problem is in the machine configuration and set up. It used to take SMTech production engineers about a week to set up each machine correctly.

Our expert on the AVX400 who was actually one of the production engineers involved in setting the machines up does not recomend that this be done on a customer site.

If you wish to speak with him in detail re what is required please feel free to contact him directly on +44 1305 849254 and ask to speak with Gary.

Best Regards

Ian
